The Italian completes his 2025 title quest with his Estoril Race 2 success!

With the round-closing Race 2 of the EICMA Estoril Round, Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) has been crowned the 2025 FIM Supersport World Champion! The Italian claimed his title at the Circuito Estoril with force as he won the race by a large margin. The#62 was followed onto the podium by Philipp Oettl (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team) in second, and rookie Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) in third.

MAGNIFICENT MANZI: Manzi clinches the World Championship with his 20th race win in the category

Oncu shot off the line, followed into the first corner by Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA) and Valentin Debise (Renzi Corse) with Manzi lying in wait behind the Ducati rider. The trio was joined in the fight for P1 at times by Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA) and Alberto Surra (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team); however, none had the pace to match Manzi as one by one his competitors dropped off. Emphatically, Manzi won his first WorldSSP Riders’ Championship by a margin of more than two seconds. Oettl weathered the storm of riders dropping off ahead of him to land his second podium of the year. Alcoba tailed the pair across the line from his P25 start position. His recovery ride to P3 marks the lowest-ever starting position for a podium finisher in a WorldSSP race.

GARCIA TAKES P4: He makes it three Yamaha R9s in the top five

In fourth place, Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA) finished as the second-fastest Yamaha on Race 2, missing the podium; however, he earned his first top five since Balaton Park. Alberto Surra (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) took home P5 as he landed his second-best finish of his rookie season and continues his top ten streak to four races. After making slight contact with Surra in Lap 3, Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) fell back to P9; however, the Englishman fought back to take home P6 in the final event at Estoril.

PEROLARI HITS HIS MARK: With his P8 finish, he #6 earns silverware of his own

In P7, Czech rider Ondrej Vostatek (WRP Racing) enjoyed his best finish of his career in the Championship, improving from his previous best of P8 recorded last season at Cremona. Corentin Perolari (Honda Racing World Supersport) had a similarly strong finish to the weekend at Estoril, his P8 his best result since his home round at Magny-Cours, which, with it, the Frenchman clinches the World Supersport Challenge title. Can Oncu (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) was battling at the front behind Debise until he ran wide in Turn 4 in the final laps, slipping down the order to finish in P9. Raffaele de Rosa (QJMOTOR Factory Racing) closed his breakout weekend at Estoril on a high note, earning a P10 finish in the round’s closing event.
